Rev.  Justin Spurlock (He/Him)

Pastor for Leadership and Transformation

Pastor Justin is very excited about the future of Covenant Presbyterian DTC as we bring faith to life within our neighborhoods in and around DTC. Passionate about the Bible, theology, and ministry since the age 8, He has served in a wide variety of church staff and pastoral positions for the past 20+ years in Indiana, Oklahoma, California, and Illinois, and for the past 12 years right here in Colorado. Justin has an M.Div from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago, an M.A. in Organizational Leadership from Fresno Pacific University, and a B.A. from Taylor University in Indiana where he met his wife. Justin and his family, love restaurants and all things food. They thoroughly enjoy the mountains, family friendly hikes, and the beauty of Colorado evenings.

Alex Sergio (He/Him)

Minister of Congregational Life

As the Minister of Congregational Life my aim is to help continually foster the spiritual growth of the different communities of our congregation. This means working for, and with, the congregation to learn and study about ways in which our faith can grow, mature, and become more inclusive. On top of the spiritual growth of our church, I want to make sure our church gets connected with the surrounding community and vice versa.
My wife (Jenna) and I moved to Colorado at the beginning of 2020. We love exploring our new state. I graduated from Abilene Christian University with a degree in Biblical Text and Youth Ministry! I love music, movies, hikes, and digesting books about theology!
Working here at Covenant has been a dream. We have a dedicated team of professionals to walk alongside our congregation in the Spirit. Come check out our church and see what our congregation has to offer!

Linda Marshall (She/Her)

Accompanist and Co-Director of Music

I was born in central Pennsylvania, attended Syracuse University. I moved to Colorado 40 years ago and love spending time with my wonderful daughter, chocolate Labrador, and two cats. I have been fortunate to serve as the accompanist at Presbyterian Church of the Covenant for nearly 20 years.  I provide a variety of weekly incidental music during our worship service and accompany the choir.  PCOC is a wonderful place filled with people who are love music and are quick to offer a kind word.  It is a pleasure to serve this fine group.  I encourage you to consider joining us for worship on Sunday mornings beginning at 10:00AM.  You will enjoy lively music, a strong sense of community, and a meaningful message.  You'll leave the parking lot ready to face the week with enthusiasm and joy.

Jack Branning (He/They)

Worship leader and Co-Director of Music

Hi everyone!
My name is Jack Branning. I grew up in Meridian, MS and received my bachelor’s degree in music education from the University of Southern Mississippi. Fun facts about me are that I enjoy teaching, singing, songwriting, figure skating, and snowboarding! I began at Covenant DTC playing oboe for church cantatas in 2015, and quickly Covenant DTC became my church family, where I serve as Praise and Worship director as well as Co- Minister of Music and Worship. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I love being a part of a church and loving staff who welcome everyone, and I am happy to have found a way to give back to my church through music. I am thrilled to work with talented musicians, grow in community, build a youth music program, and bring back handbells!
We invite you to come check out our service and our loving community!

Sheila Chester (She/Her)

Marketing & Social Media

Sheila Chester is thrilled to collaborate with Covenant DTC. With a background as a creative director specializing in communication, marketing, strategy, and music, Sheila has made significant contributions to various small churches across Colorado. Her passion lies in showcasing the authentic identity of churches to the public and community, reflecting the true spirit of the congregation.

Residing in Lafayette, Colorado, Sheila shares her life with her rocket scientist husband, their three children, and one Australian Shepherd. Their family embraces the wonders of the great outdoors, indulging in activities such as biking, skiing, fishing, gardening, and hiking. They also cherish moments spent at Sheila's parents' Ranch in South Dakota.

Each church experience has taught Sheila a little more about the world and about herself. She is excited to see what new spiritual heights this opportunity at Covenant DTC will bring her.

Heather Goss (She/Her)

Financial Secretary

Heather coordinates the finances of Covenant. With an extensive background in bookkeeping and operations, Heather keeps Covenant running efficiently and smoothly. In addition to work behind a computer, you will find that Heather makes amazing food creations, and can wield a hammer and wrench with incredible skill.

Wendy (She/Her)

Interim Communications

Wendy is our temporary Communications Associate, overseeing the church's internal and external communications and marketing efforts. Hailing from the Gulf Coast of Alabama (Roll Tide!), Wendy brings a background in marketing communications (including an M.Sc. from Syracuse University) and over two decades of experience. She enjoys crafting clear and engaging content that connects with our growing church community. In 2011, Wendy and her husband, Steve, discovered Grace at the Highlands Ranch Oktoberfest, an unexpected encounter that sparked a renewed faith and a deeper connection to Jesus. As empty nesters, they share life's adventures with two sons (and their furry daughter, Addie Sue!).
